    Scott Matthews

Scott Matthews, born 15th Jan 1976 in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, UK, was raised in a very musical family. His father was a drummer and introduced Scott to such iconic artists as Marc Bolan, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan.

Upon acquiring his first guitar at the tender age of seven, It didn’t take long before Scott realised that music was his true calling in life. Scott’s diverse musical taste would later lead to experimentations with funk, soul and indie rock, with various local bands, before finally deciding to embark on a career as a solo artist.

In 2006, Scott released his ground breaking debut album “Passing Stranger”, which contained an eclectic mix of musical styles and received much airplay on BBC Radio 2 from the likes of Janice Long, Mark Radcliffe and Bob Harris.

September 2006 saw the release of Scott’s first single, “Elusive” which earned Scott more support from the likes of Jo Whiley, Dermot O’Leary, and Zane Lowe, who made ‘Elusive’ his Single of the Week.

In May 2007, “Elusive” won the Ivor Novello Award for “Best Song Musically and Lyrically”.
Scott has not only embarked on a number of sell-out headline tours, but has also been fortunate enough to tour with some of the world’s most respected artists, including, Foo Fighters, Snow Patrol, Rufus Wainwright, Tori Amos and Robert Plant, who made a rare guest appearance on Scott’s second album ‘Elsewhere’, singing a duet with Scott on the haunting ’12 Harps’.

In 2010, as well as releasing the album ‘Live in London’, a complete show recorded at Shepherds Bush Empire, Scott has been in the studio working on his third album ‘What The Night Delivers’, which includes a guest appearance from the legendary bass player Danny Thompson, whom Scott teamed up with in Joe Boyd’s live stage production of ‘Way To Blue-The Songs Of Nick Drake’.

‘What The Night Delivers’ will be released on ‘San Remo Records’ Autumn 2011 accompanied by an extensive European tour.
